TIMAC was established at Tongji University by the National Educational Department. Its fundamental task is to carry out research based on the current situation of international Media Art’s development in order to open a new field in both visual art and computer programming technology, and become one of the important places on the world media art map
In 2007 TIMAC has finished two research plans established by the Shanghai Science Committee – ‘Media Art Gallery for the Research Achievements of World Exposition’s Science and Technology Promotion Centre’ and ‘Heterotopic Seamless Screen and Visual Image on Mirror of 2 meters height’.
